Today I was reminded by a bridal client that “Every Action Has A Reaction”, as was the client.  Her wedding is in one week and they went yesterday to see the wedding coordinator of the venue in which their reception will be held.  The coordinator made what was an innocent change to the layout of the head table that we had designed. The change was simple and truly innocent, she increased the length of the table, she felt it would offer a more proportionate look to the room, as it was  a Tuscan style table being placed in the center of the room.  The client didn’t think twice about the change, seemed good to them.  So if this was the “Action”, what was the “Reaction”?  This change resulted in a $350 increase to the clients event as a result of needing five more linen rentals, an additional centerpiece, and additional candle light.  Why the increase?  Well the head table design was set for four tables, and the new layout changed that to nine tables, thus forcing us to cover those tables.   Upon informing the client that the change required additional items, resulting in higher costs, one can only imagine their shock.  No one thought about the “Cause and Effect” part of it, it had originaly been designed that way to help offset budget.

Lesson:  Make sure you understand the “Reaction” of your “Actions” in life, especially when on a budget.

Griffin’s recently was invited to take part in a unique wedding extravaganza held at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Columbus.  We only had about a week to come up with our design concept.  We thought we would share a few pictures of what our design team came up with.  The colors were difficult, however, our staff was able to pull off a romantic and over the top look by sticking with simple monochromatic floral design centerpieces  that exploaded from the table.  Leave a note and tell us what you think.
